Massachusetts Women’s Political Caucus Endorses
Julia Fahey for State Representative in the 29th Middlesex District
Boston– The Massachusetts Women’s Political Caucus announced today that candidate Julia Fahey, of Watertown, has received the endorsement of the organization’s Political Action Committee for State Representative for the 29th Middlesex District.
“Julia Fahey possesses the experience, solid work ethic, and intellectual creativity needed to address the issues facing her district at this time. She is the best choice to replace former Representative Rachel Kaprelian.” said Executive Director Sheila Capone-Wulsin. “We applaud her candidacy, and we look forward to working with her on our shared agenda for Massachusetts women and families. For more than 35 years, the MWPC has been advocating for equal pay, social justice, and reproductive rights. We are heartened to have an ally in Julia Fahey.”
Julia Fahey, a resident of Watertown, attended Watertown public schools. An attorney for Service Employees International Union/National Association of Government Employees (SEIU/NAGE), Julia serves as member/officer of NAGE Charitable Foundation.
“I am honored to be endorsed by the Massachusetts Women’s Political Caucus, an organization with a long history and tradition of promoting women in the political process and electing them to public office,” said Fahey. “As an attorney, I have fought for equality and against discrimination of women in the workplace. If elected, I will dedicate myself to furthering the cause of women’s rights.”
“The caucus greatly admires the work Julia has done for low-wage woman workers through SEIU” said Sheila Capone-Wulsin. “She is in touch with the needs of working women and understands their struggle to make ends meet and raise healthy families. We are excited that she will bring this experience to Beacon Hill.”
